Ganoderma lucidum or lingzhi is a medicinal mushroom that has been used for over 2000 years.

This wood-loving mushroom is considered an elixir of longevity (even of immortality) in Chinese culture.

For good reason. Modern-day scientific evidence show powerful immune boosting, cancer-reducing, blood pressure and cholesterol reducing, blood sugar stabilising and more properties.

As opposed to pharmaceuticals, medicinal mushroom extracts present little risk and side-effects.

In China, they say the Japanese are renegades, sent by the first emperor to pure outlying islands to find the Reishi mushroom as part of his elixir of immortality. Once they found it, they never came back.
